Ben Affleck, Real-Life Superhero, Surprises 11-Year-Old Batman Fan Battling Terminal Cancer

Ben Affleck is a superhero onscreen and off, especially in the eyes of one 11-year-old boy. Mukuta, a refugee from the Congo, is currently undergoing treatment for a rare form of cancer at a hospice center in Atlanta. According to NBC 11Alive, the terminally ill young boy had two wishes: to reunite with his family and to meet his superhero, Batman. The hospital originally only asked for a Batman impersonator, but thanks to social media, Mukuta's wishes reached the actor who's currently filming a new movie in Hawaii, and the two were able to meet over FaceTime.

After their conversation, Hospice Atlanta revealed that Ben offered to help fulfill the other half of Mukuta's dream. Ben will pay for Mukuta's mother to fly from a refugee camp in Zimbabwe to reunite in person. He proves that it doesn't take a mask or a cape to be a hero, simply a desire to help.

Such a memorable day for Mukuta who's a super #Batman fan! He received a phone call from @BenAffleck today.
