Emma Kenney is taking some time away from the spotlight to focus on her mental and physical health. The actress — who plays Darlene Conner's daughter, Harris, in the Roseanne reboot — told E! News on Wednesday that she's decided to get professional treatment for issues related to her "personal battles."

The 18-year-old actress, who also stars in Shameless, told the publication that she had been running with a "fast crowd" and doing things that she "shouldn't be doing" since she's underage. "It wasn't healthy, and it was making me feel even worse — anxious and depressed," she said. "It was just a slippery slope that I did not want to go down and I knew that I needed to stop it."

It's great that Emma recognizes what was making her feel unwell and is taking initiative to get better. "I've decided to take a break from social media and LA for a bit," she tweeted on April 9. "This sounds so cliche but this town/industry can really get to you. Going to re-find my peace and happiness."

Emma also wants her fans to know that it's OK to admit that you need help and seek it. "I want to be the healthiest, best Emma that I can be, and I know that by going to treatment that's what's going to happen, and I'm going to continue on that positive road," she said. "I just want to send a message to my fans saying that it's OK to admit that you need help, and it doesn't make you weak. I'm going to come out on the other side, the true Emma that I've always been." We wish Emma a happy and healthy recovery!
