Ryan Reynolds [1] gave a heartfelt speech when he was crowned Entertainment Weekly's entertainer of the year at the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday. After cracking a few jokes, the Deadpool [2] actor took a more serious turn when he dedicated his award to children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the SickKids Foundation of Toronto, and two young fans named Connor McGrath [3] and Grace Bowen who died of cancer. "They didn't lose the battle," he told the audience. "But they did start a fight and it's up to us to finish it." Of course, he couldn't end his speech without giving a special shout-out to his wife, Blake Lively [4], and their two children.
And the awards didn't stop there. The actor was his usual charming self when he accepted best actor in a comedy. This time however, he gave a shoutout to the amazing screenwriters in Hollywood and Tom Hanks [5]. "You're a huge influence," he told the Sully actor. "My 2-year-old daughter, the first full sentence she's ever said was 'There's no crying in baseball.'" Oh, Ryan. You're too much!
