Zara Tindall, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and cousin to Princes William and Harry, has suffered a miscarriage [1]. A Buckingham Palace rep confirmed the heartbreaking news to Us Weekly on Saturday, just a day before Christmas. In a statement, the rep said, "Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy."
Zara announced her second pregnancy [2] at the end of November. She and her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall, are already parents to 2-year-old daughter Mia. The 35-year-old equestrian is the daughter of Princess Royal Anne and is currently 16th in line for the throne.
