Say Goodbye to "Thank U, Next," Because Ariana Grande's "7 Rings" Is Our 2019 Anthem

It's finally here! After keeping us waiting for what felt like ages, Ariana Grande [1] dropped the music video for her new single [2], "7 Rings," on Thursday night, and no one is OK [3]. The song, which samples "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, is all about female empowerment and was born out of a shopping trip Grande took with her friends following her split from ex-fiancé [4] Pete Davidson back in October 2018.

"'Twas a pretty rough day in NYC. My friends took me to Tiffany's," Grande tweeted [5] this past December. "We had too much Champagne. I bought us all rings. It was very insane and funny." Apparently one of Grande's pals suggested she turn their trip into a song, and well, here we are. The video, of course, features a bunch of Grande's girlfriends and remains true to her aesthetic: lots of pink and a whole lot of sexiness [6]. Singer Victoria Monét even makes another appearance (she also appeared in Grande's "Thank U, Next" video)! So excuse us . . . we'll just be over here watching the video on loop until Grande drops her next song.
