One of your favorite childhood books, The BFG [1], has gotten the movie treatment [2]. While director Steven Spielberg [3] manages to create some beautiful images through the film's digital effects, one of the most magical parts [4] has to be the friendly giant himself. Since the whole film revolves around the unlikely alliance between the BFG and little orphan Sophie, you can bet there is a lot of CGI that went into making those beloved scenes between the two characters just right. Meet Mark Rylance

The English actor may not be a giant (he's actually 5'8"), but he is a pretty big deal. This year, he took home best supporting actor at the Oscars for his role in Bridge of Spies — another Steven Spielberg [5] film. His previous projects also include Wolf Hall, Twelfth Night , and The Other Boleyn Girl.
