Since Game of Thrones is heading into its final handful of episodes, there's no time like the present to represent Westeros on Halloween [1]. And let's be real: you could dress up as the icky, sleazy Lannisters [2] or one of the show's other villains [3], but, well, Winter is coming. We're setting our sights on one of the most noble and beloved (and tragic) houses in the Seven Kingdoms: House Stark. From the first season all the way up to season six, here's how to fight for Winterfell on All Hallows' Eve.
Jon Snow, as King of the North
- What to wear: An all-black outfit: black pants, boots, long-sleeved shirt. Layer some dark lightweight armor on top (get creative), and don't forget the man bun!
- How to act: Like you've seen some sh*t but you're ready to take the Iron Throne.
Sansa Stark
- What to wear: The latest iteration of Sansa involves long dresses, a side braid, and lots of fur.
- How to act: Like no man can tell you what to do, and you're ready to kick some ass if anyone tries to. Be fierce.
Arya Stark, as a Braavosi Girl
- What to wear: Style in Braavos is very bohemian, so track down a flowy peasant blouse, a long skirt, and a cool vest. Add the hair buns and tiny sword for impact.
- How to act: Like you're on a top-secret mission that may or may not involve murder.
Bran Stark
- What to wear: Bran's been north of the wall for quite some time, so dress warm. We're talking lots of fur and layers.
- How to act: Since Bran is crippled, you get to lie around a lot. And don't forget to spend some time "warging" with your eyes rolled back into your head.
Robb Stark
- What to wear: Fake armor and dark-colored clothing with a fake fur jacket. Wield a toy sword.
- How to act: Like you just can't wait to be king.
Lyanna Stark
- What to wear: Lightweight quilted armor, complete with a skirt and gloves.
- How to act: Precocious and confident.
Jon Snow, Just After Resurrection
- What to wear: Nothing but a loincloth and the pallor of a man who's been dead for a few days.
- How to act: Um, like you just woke up from being dead for a few days. You know, excited, but also kind of disillusioned by the nothingness? Like that.
Rickon Stark
- What to wear: Very raggedy furs and other various warm layers. Rickon's been out on the run for a long time, so make sure to get that moppy hair and add dirt to your face.
- How to act: Like you're scared for your life.
Young Ned Stark
- What to wear: Make your fake armor a little more old-school, and if you can, get that luscious long hair going too.
- How to act: Brave and determined, like someone else's life is on the line and you're the only one who can save them.
Catelyn Stark
- What to wear: A high-necked dress with a long coat over it. Wear a long red wig in a braid.
- How to act: Fierce and determined. Worry aloud about your children.
Jon Snow, as a Wildling
- What to wear: Before he gets betrayed and murdered by the Night's Watch, Jon Snow is a little more unkempt. The most important part is that big fur jacket; cover it in snow for extra effect. Then add the gloves, the under armor, the long hair, and the sword!
- How to act: Brave and noble. You're always trying to do the right thing.
Benjen "Cold Hands" Stark
- What to wear: A cozy black fur ensemble with your hair or wig pulled halfway back. Wear some bluish face makeup to look semidead and very cold.
- How to act: Strong, quiet, and mysterious.
Arya Stark, as a Blind Beggar
- What to wear: A very ragged shawl, and other ragged clothes. Try to find contacts that will white out your eyes, and add a bowl or a staff as an accessory.
- How to act: Well, blind. Feel your way around, and bump into things. More than that, though, you're kind of hopeless and defeated.
Ned Stark
- What to wear: Much like the other Stark men, Ned wears heavy-duty armor and fur and wields a magnificent sword. Set him apart with the long, half-up hairdo.
- How to act: You're the patriarch of the family, so be strong and brave and try to take care of everyone else.
