Gilmore Girls [2] is such a phenomenon that Milo Ventimiglia [3] can't even escape it on his other shows. Though he'll always be Jess to us, Ventimiglia is now starring on one of the Fall's biggest new series, This Is Us [4], and the show resisted until its second episode to give a shout-out to his previous role. Unfortunately, his character isn't the one to reference the show — he hasn't quite caught up with the times, if you catch my drift — but Toby mentions it to Kate toward the end of the episode. "I'm still going to be at this party trying to bang a Gilmore Girl," he says. "Go for both," she counters. "The Gilmore the Gil-merrier," he jokes. You sly writers, we see you.
