The Schitt's Creek [2] cast swept up a ton of awards [3] during the Emmys on Sunday [4], but it wasn't the first win for Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara. The longtime friends [5], who play onscreen couple Johnny and Moira Rose on the hit series, have been working together since the '70s and actually earned their first Emmy together [6]. In 1982, they took outstanding writing in a variety or music program for their work on the Canadian television sketch comedy show Second City Television.
While they already have Emmys for writing, their recent wins [7] at the 2020 award show marks their first acting Emmys — Eugene took home outstanding lead actor in a comedy series and Catherine nabbed outstanding lead actress [8] in a comedy series. The cast also took home outstanding comedy series [9]. Talk about full circle! In honor of their big night, we couldn't help but relieve their first Emmy win. Let's just say, it's one heck of a throwback. See the cute photo ahead.
