The CW Releases a New Trailer Ahead of Naomi's Premiere

A new superhero is heading to The CW! From the minds of Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship comes a DC drama that follows the journey of the titular character, Naomi (Kaci Walfall), as she pursues "her hidden destiny." According to the show's official log line, Naomi is "a cool, confident, comic book–loving teenager" who sets out to uncover the truth about a supernatural event that shakes up her hometown of Port Oswego.

In the latest trailer for the new series, Walfall's character uses her Superman expertise to help her understand her own identity when she finds out she has mysterious superpowers of her own. The show premieres on The CW on Jan. 11, and luckily for us, we already have an idea of what we can expect thanks to the trailers and first-look pictures. Joining her are Mary-Charles Jones as her best friend, Annabelle; Barry Watson and Mouzam Makkar as her parents, Greg and Jennifer; Cranston Johnson as mysterious car lot owner Zumbado; Alexander Wraith as tattoo parlor owner Dee; Daniel Puig as Naomi's ex-boyfriend Nathan; Aidan Gemme as Jacob, Annabelle's boyfriend; Will Meyers as "proud townie" Anthony; and Camila Moreno as comic-book enthusiast Lourdes.
