On the last night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, The Chicks took the virtual stage with a beautiful rendition of the national anthem. Formerly known as The Dixie Chicks [1], the trio, which includes Natalie Maines, Martie Erwin Maguire, and Emily Strayer, sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" in harmony during the virtual event. Many viewed The Chicks's performance on Thursday night as a full-circle moment, as back in 2003 the group received severe backlash from conservative country fans for criticizing then-president George W. Bush and the invasion of Iraq. Above, watch The Chicks's three-part harmony.
