See Why This Video Featuring a Young Girl Being Bullied Will Actually Make You Feel Hopeful

The downfall of social media? Bullying [1] from behind a keyboard has become a huge issue — but that doesn't mean that kids and teens aren't still getting bullied [2] face to face in open, public places. In an emotional video from UP TV [3], this type of bullying [4] was staged in order to test the reactions of unknowing bystanders.

The video opens with three girls sitting at a bus stop — with an adult male just a few seats away — when one teen says, "Do you have any friends at all? Any ones that aren't imaginary or your family?" But that's not the end of the experiment . . . harsh and hurtful statements continue to be fired at the smallest girl from the mouths of the two bullies, each time with a different adult sitting near enough to hear the exchanges — and the way the adults react to these young bullies may surprise you.

At least one in three kids will be bullied [5] during school, and UP TV wants to know who will stop the bullying? Their hopeful answer: all of us.
