See Why This Video Featuring a Young Girl Being Bullied Will Actually Make You Feel Hopeful

The downfall of social media? Bullying from behind a keyboard has become a huge issue — but that doesn't mean that kids and teens aren't still getting bullied face to face in open, public places. In an emotional video from UP TV, this type of bullying was staged in order to test the reactions of unknowing bystanders.

The video opens with three girls sitting at a bus stop — with an adult male just a few seats away — when one teen says, "Do you have any friends at all? Any ones that aren't imaginary or your family?" But that's not the end of the experiment . . . harsh and hurtful statements continue to be fired at the smallest girl from the mouths of the two bullies, each time with a different adult sitting near enough to hear the exchanges — and the way the adults react to these young bullies may surprise you.

At least one in three kids will be bullied during school, and UP TV wants to know who will stop the bullying? Their hopeful answer: all of us.
