The Struggles of Feeding Kids Is Hilariously Captured Through This Instagram Account

Apr 22 2015 - 4:32am

You're making your kid their favorite meal in the entire world — likely the same meal they've eaten the last four nights in a row, to be honest — and when you finally put it in front of them, rather than expressing gratitude and delight, you are presented with a reason (or seven) as to why they can't eat it. The Instagram account My Kid Can't Eat This [1] is an honest look into the minds of our children — what they deem edible and inedible [2] — and a dose of comedy that will definitely add a few laughs to your feed.

"#MyKidCantEatThis because mommy peeled it and he wanted it peeled by daddy."

Come on, Mom.

"#MyKidCantEatThis without sprinkles."

Everything without sprinkles is inedible as far as we're concerned, too.

"#MyKidCantEatThis because I paid for it and it's not on my plate."

So much truth.

"#MyKidCantEatThis because it's in a new wrapper."

Change is hard.

"My kid can't eat this because of the white strings of death are choking out his will to citrus. #MyKidCantEatThis"

Most grown adults can't deal with the white strings of death either, so that's understandable.

"My kid can't eat this because there are no spoons that speak to him today and he doesn't want to use his hands."

It is of the utmost importance to communicate with your cutlery on a meal-by-meal basis.

"My kid can't eat this because all of the intact crackers have been contaminated by the broken cracker and we're out of Ritz."

Obviously there needs to be a movement to make sure that crackers are handled with more care than ever before.

"My kid can't eat this because it has ugly bumps and isn't a doughnut. #MyKidCantEatThis"

That is the most fair argument we've ever heard . . . because doughnuts.

"#MyKidCantEatThis because apple skins are inedible, apparently."

Yuck, skin.

"#MyKidCantEatThis because it was on her plate and not mine."

We all want what we can't have . . .

"#MyKidCantEatThis because of this single bell pepper."

BREACH, BREACH, BREACH.

"My kid can't eat this because I opened it half an inch. Sorry. #MyKidCantEatThis"

Seriously, Mom?
