Hoda Kotb is a mom again [2]! The Today show co-anchor announced the news on Tuesday, April 16, over the phone [3] during the show's episode. With all of her fellow hosts gathered around a table, she announced: "It's a girl! And her name is Hope."
Hope Catherine Kotb was welcomed home this week, and her mama actually chose to tease her name before officially announcing the news of her adoption [4]. On Monday, Hoda shared an image on her Instagram of a cloudy background with the words "Choose Hope" over top. Now that Hope has been introduced to the world, everything is clicking together.
Hoda, who is also mom to 2-year-old Haley Joy — who she adopted in 2017 [5] — shared with her Today show counterparts [6], who were all wiping away tears: "I can't believe it . . . I'm so happy she's here." As for big sister, Haley Joy? "She was literally marching around saying, 'I'm a big sister!'"
Congratulations to the adorable family!
