Gabrielle Union Radiates Pride as She Helps Zaya Get Ready For Michelle Obama Interview

Zaya Wade continues to be an empowering example, and she'll always have Gabrielle Union cheering her on behind the scenes. On March 5, the 13-year-old sat down for an interview with former first lady Michelle Obama to discuss the release of the young readers edition of Becoming. After the joyful and empowering chat, Gabrielle shared a few snaps (taken by Ayanna McKnight) from the special day on Instagram along with a message of support.

"Our 🖤 is everlasting. Our support is unwavering. Our fight is ferocious. Our village will always be here, steady and ready to nurture, protect, encourage and uplift," Gabrielle wrote. "We 🖤 you @zayawade and we are SOOOOOO proud of you!!!! Always."

Gabrielle and her husband Dwyane Wade often speak up about the importance of embracing and accepting their children in allyship. That means prioritizing their mental health, and in Zaya's case, making sure she knows her "peace is non-negotiable." We can't wait to see Zaya continue to thrive and lead the way for her generation, with proud parents by her side.
