"Lightning Crotch," Anyone? Hilary Duff Details Her "Traumatic" Pregnancy Symptom

Hilary Duff is one of the most relatable and candid celebrities out there — I mean, who else would dye their hair blue while pregnant because they were "just ready to have some fun"?

The Younger actress recently sat down for a virtual appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and opened up about how her third pregnancy is different from her previous experiences; her new children's book, My Little Brave Girl; and so much more.

While Hilary and husband Matthew Koma have decided not to find out their baby's sex until the birth, there has been one other surprise during this pregnancy, and that's "lightning crotch." Seriously. "I didn't have it with the other kids," she said, "so I text my midwife the other day and I'm like, 'What's up with the stabbing pains in my vagina? I'm not feeling this.'" She explained that apparently it's totally normal as the baby is getting ready for birth. "This is quite traumatic, like it'll just strike and all of the sudden you're doubled over and then it's gone," Hilary said.

Aside from the unexpected pain, she said that it's been the "best pregnancy so far." Hilary perfectly captures the essence of having a busy schedule while expecting her third child. "I worked, I shot a season of the show, we were in New York, just busy with the other kids and their lives, so I think that's helpful because I don't have time to focus on every ache and pain." Hilary and Matthew are already parents to 2-year-old daughter Banks, and Hilary is also a mom to 8-year-old son Luca, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie.
