Kim Kardashian West has never been shy about sharing the details of her four kids' day-to-day lives on social media. But now, an image she recently posted to her Instagram story — which shows an oil painting that she says her 7-year-old daughter North created — has sparked a debate on social media. The painting, which appears to be a near-professional-level mountain landscape, had even been signed by North in the bottom right corner. But given the attention to detail, some people doubted it was actually her work.
However, on Feb. 9, a TikTok user named Camryn came to Kim's defense, sharing an informative video that doubled as a serious plot twist. Although she might not know the West clan firsthand, she noted that her mom, who's been an art teacher for 30 years, is allegedly North's instructor. What's more, Camryn also shared photos from when she won an art contest at 7 years old with a very similar painting.

North West's Painting in Question
After sharing a photo of her daughter's work with the caption, "My little artist North," some of Kim's fans began asking for proof that it was, in fact, the 7-year-old's work.
Camryn's Proof That North Actually Created the Painting
Camryn began her video noting that she "can't believe" she's one of the few people on the planet who can actually provide evidence that Kim is telling the truth.
"My mom taught me how to paint this," she shared alongside photos of herself at 7 with a similar painting to North's. "And she taught North how to paint the same one just two weeks ago. She's been an art teacher for 30 years and everyone that comes through her classes goes through this exact same painting when they're starting out."
Naturally, people were floored by Camryn's revelation and said as much in the comments. "Okay cvs cashier come THROUGH with the receipts," wrote one commenter. "So what you're saying is that you have the coolest mom." Um yeah, that seems to be exactly what she's saying!
Kim Defends North on Social Media
After North's skills were questioned on social media and in the press, Kim defended her daughter on her Instagram story. Along with sharing a photo of North holding her work of art, Kim addressed the naysayers directly.
"My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured," she wrote. "North worked incredibly hard on her painting which took several weeks to complete. As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone."
