When it comes to shopping for outerwear for the fall and winter seasons, I'm all about the weight of my clothing. I get cold so easily, so if I'm going to step outside in a jacket or sweater, I need my clothing to be heavy, thick, and cozy.
After going through all of Old Navy's popular sweaters, I decided to give the Cozy Fair Isle Tie-Belt Cardigan Sweater ($42, originally $55) a try. I loved that it was made of a soft cotton-blend yarn, and had a small collar for added warmth. And because I wanted this to feel more like a coatigan (fancy word for long cardigan), I took advantage of the retailer's variety of sizing and ordered this in a Tall Large. I'm 5'8" and the sweater hit just above my knee, which was a win.
When I put it on, I couldn't believe how heavy it was — a welcome surprise. I wanted it to be heavy, but at the low price point I didn't expect it to feel the way that it did. It'll be the type of piece I can toss on in the mornings in lieu of a robe, wear over leggings when I run errands, and curl up underneath during any future traveling.
See how I styled it ahead!
This Cozy Fair Isle Tie-Belt Cardigan Sweater ($42, originally $55) is nice and big — perfect for staying warm. I wore it with medium-rinse ripped jeans, combat boots, and a simple white T-shirt tucked in. The sweater is the standout piece of this look, so I didn't want anything to compete with it.
The Cozy Fair Isle Tie-Belt Cardigan Sweater ($42, originally $55) also comes in a gorgeous black.
