Sam Smith Celebrates His First Time Wearing Heels on a Red Carpet: "F*ck Yes!"

Tuesday night was a pretty big one for Sam Smith. The "How Do You Sleep?" singer stepped out at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London and walked the red carpet in a pair of patent leather Gucci heeled boots that pretty much spoke for themselves. But Sam's moment that night wasn't just special because of how great he looked — it also marked the first time he'd ever worn heels on a red carpet, something he acknowledged with a sweet Instagram photo the morning after the event.

"Tonight I wore heels for the first time to an award show," he captioned a photo of the shoes. "I've just got home from a gorgeous evening and as I was walking to my front door I stopped and listened to my heels clonking against the floor. And I just thought 'F*CK YES'!! There was a time where I thought I'd never ever ever be able to be myself like this in front of the industry or anyone. It feels so good and I just wanted to share that with you all, and share a picture of my GORJ Gucci heels. They'll always be my virgin heels."
