DIY Edible Water Bottles
Inspired by Ooho! Edible Water Bottles [1]
Ingredients
- 1 ½ tsp. calcium lactate
2 cups water
2 tsp. sodium alginate
1 cup warm water
Round ice cube molds
Directions
- In a bowl, stir calcium lactate into 2 cups of water until dissolved. Pour into ice cube molds and freeze.
- In a small bowl, add sodium alginate and mix with an immersion blender until completely dissolved. Let sit for at least 15 minutes, or until all of the air bubbles are gone.
- Remove your ice balls from the mold and carefully add them (one at a time) to the bowl of sodium alginate. Carefully coat the ice ball in the mixture and let sit for several minutes. Using a slotted spoon, carefully lift the ice ball out of the water and let it sit in a bowl of warm water until the ice is completely dissolved. Remove the ball from the water and eat! It's all completely edible.
