Poetry and Working Out? Yeah, They Go Together.

"We are strong. We are courageous. We are empowered." Every piece from Alala's limited-edition capsule collection with poet Alison Malee features this mantra. The products, launched on Jan. 15, are all about sisterhood and self-love.

"What is so exciting about this collaboration is that I actually wrote a piece for them as a mantra, as a start to the new year," Alison, who published her poetry collection The Day Is Ready For You last April, announced on her Instagram. "Regardless of what you order . . . you will have a tag that has the full poem on it so that you know the inspiration behind the phrase on your product."

Alison told POPSUGAR, "When Alala reached out originally, we both had a strong desire to create something hopeful that was rooted in strength and bravery as we enter into this new year, and in turn, this new chapter of our lives." She added, "I hope that when women wear these products they feel renewed, they feel powerful, they feel acknowledged and accepted."

The collection is made up of three pieces: a hoodie, tank, and tote.

"Since the collection launch, a lot of women have also shared amazing stories about sisterhood and what it means to them," Alala founder Denise Lee told us. "This has meant so much to us, as a brand that has always dedicated itself to celebrating strong women."
