Lindsey Vonn Wins Bronze, and Her Late Grandfather Would Be Proud

The 2018 Olympics have been an emotional ride for skier Lindsey Vonn. She came to these Winter Games to win gold in honor of her late grandfather, a Korean War vet, and wore his initials, DK, on her helmet. And today, in her last Olympic downhill race, she came in third. Through tears, she told NBC, "I still think I made him proud."

Her fans took to Twitter to congratulate her and let her know that they think her grandfather would, indeed, be proud of her podium finish.

She made him very proud. Congrats and we all secretly hope it's not your last!

@lindseyvonn I believe he would be so proud of you regardless of the end result. You are worth more than the medals you've won. Those are just extra reasons for him to be proud.
