On Friday, the US women's soccer team became the first women's team ever to be honored with a ticker-tape parade in NYC. The women — who clinched the FIFA Women's World Cup championship [1] by beating Japan on Sunday — floated up Broadway on a storied stretch named "Canyon of Heroes," the same route that has honored many famous athletes and others for decades. Relive their best moments with a look at what it was like on the parade route — or as New York Mayor Bill de Blasio renamed it for the occasion, the "Canyon of Heroines."
Before the parade, the women stopped by Good Morning America, where defender Kelley O'Hara snapped this pic.
Syndey Leroux took a moment before the parade.
Crowds gathered to see the historic parade in action.
Mayor Bill de Blasio's Vine [2] gave us a firsthand account of what it's like to celebrate with USWNT.
