The Jonas Brothers Turned Into Olympians Last Night, and We're Impressed With Their Serious Skills

Jul 22 2021 - 10:40am

Last night on NBC the Jonas Brothers [1] got to live their "Olympic Dreams" as they trained with Team USA [2] athletes and competed against each other in hurdles, gymnastics [3], and BMX racing. If you're a member of Team Jonas (their fan club) then you already know that the boys have athleticism built into them — as well as an appreciation for some brotherly competition. Throughout the program, the Jonas Brothers bring their natural comedic tendencies to each sport, while competing with the same tenacity as an Olympic athlete.

Ahead are clips from the special last night, including footage of their flips onstage from over 10 years ago. If you'd like to catch the full episode, you can stream it now on Peacock [4].

Jonas Brothers Are Quizzed on Olympic Facts — Olympic Dreams

Watch the Jonas Brothers attempt to name as many Olympic sports as they can, cities the Olympics have been held in, and Olympic athletes during this giggle-inducing speed quiz.

Joe Jonas Floor Routine — Olympic Dreams

While most viewers may be surprised by Kevin's backflip [5] during this segment, the Jo-Bro has shown off his athleticism in concerts past [6]. Kevin isn't the only gymnastics-inclined brother. In 2008 Nick Jonas did an aerial on stage [7] while performing their hit song "Burning Up." To watch more of the Jonas Brothers' flips in mid-2000s quality, check out this fan-made video [8].

Jonas Brothers Hurdles Race — Olympic Dreams

As the Jonas Brothers took on the hurdles, Joe got an early lead, Nick took a chest dive on the track, and Kevin kept a steady pace that earned him a gold medal.

Jonas Brothers Training For BMX Race — Olympic Dreams

For the final sport in their Olympic journey, the Jonas Brothers spent a day training for a BMX race, which was held the day after. While training day (the video above) seemed to move along smoothly, on race day Nick ended up fracturing a rib [9].
