Trader Joe's La Granja Rosé ($5)
We wanted to love this Rosé — I mean, look at that flamingo label — but it didn't go over so well. With zero complexity and a strong alcohol aftertaste, it was like drinking a glass of boozy water. Editors compared it to "cheap grapes," "flat soda water," and — my personal favorite — "armpits."
Trader Joe's Raimat Rosé ($6)
If you're on the hunt for a hearty Rosé to pair with seafood, this smooth and slightly spicy wine could be what you're looking for. One editor likened it to a pink Chardonnay, while several pointed out its "heaviness."
Trader Joe's Espiral Rosé ($5)
This wine was a bit more controversial among our taste testers, with ratings raging from one to four stars. This Rosé is on the sweeter side and includes a surprise factor — bubbles! If you prefer a dry Rosé, this isn't the bottle for you. But if you're looking for a fizzy bottle that would pair well with fruit, this could be the one.
Trader Joe's Josefina Rosé ($6)
This semidry, fruit-forward bottle has a vibrant pink hue and a crisp finish. One editor thought it would be the perfect bottle to accompany a cheese-plate picnic while another envisioned it as the perfect base for homemade frosé.
Trader Joe's Emma Reichart Rosé ($5) — Editors' Pick!
Dry but bursting with flavors of juicy watermelon and red currant, this one was the crowd favorite by far. A good tip is to chat up Trader Joe's employees for intel on which wines are popular. At checkout, I asked the Trader Joe's cashier if any of the Rosés I chose were selling well. He quickly scanned the labels and pointed to this Emma Reichart bottle. At that moment, I should have turned around and grabbed a few more. At just $5, this refreshing Rosé holds its own. If you're lucky enough to see it in stock — it has been flying off of the shelves — do yourself a favor, and just buy a case.
