Next Time You're Unpacking Your Groceries, Try This Tip For Storing Greens

Jun 15 2018 - 3:35pm

You know how those greens you just bought start wilting in your fridge drawer just days after making it home from the grocery store? It doesn't have to be that way! Try this quick and simple storage tip next time you buy a fresh batch of lettuce or spinach and you'll definitely notice a difference:

First, wash the greens thoroughly by submerging them in bowl full of cold water at least three times before spinning them dry. Then line a resealable bag or tupperware container with a paper towel. Transfer the greens into the container, then top them with another paper towel. Seal the bag (some air inside is OK) or the lid on the tupperware and store in the fridge. That's it! This technique should keep them crisp and fresh for well over a week so you never have to suffer from using sad, mushy greens again.
