14 Things You Didn't Know About HGTV Hosts Chris and Peyton Lambton

Chris and Peyton Lambton owe their marriage to reality television. After his-and-hers stints on the ABC hit The Bachelor [1], the Lambtons met, married, and went on to host a show on HGTV, Going Yard. Chris is a familiar face on HGTV and its sister network the DIY [2] Network, where he fronts Yard Crashers Mondays at 9:30 p.m. EDT/8:30 p.m Central.

We love the familiar faces of HGTV, especially couples like Flip or Flop's Tarek and Christina El Moussa [3] and Fixer Upper's Chip and Joanna Gaines [4]. Now, we're learning a little more about Chris and Peyton and the road that led them to cable television fame.

They Met Through — but Not on — The Bachelor

Both Peyton and Chris have appeared on versions of The Bachelor [5], he on a 2010 season of The Bachelorette [6] and she on a 2007 season of The Bachelor. Jesse Beck, a mutual friend they knew through the Bachelor universe, introduced them at a charity golf event in Raleigh, NC.

Landscaping Is in Chris's Blood

Chris has been working with his family's landscaping business since he was young. Lambton Landscaping [7] is based in Dennis, MA, where Peyton and Chris now make their home.

Chris Said No to The Bachelor

Later, he was asked in for an interview at HGTV's Knoxville, TN, office with network president Kathleen Finch. Peyton showed up on the day of Chris's test shoot and asked to be a part of things.

They're Both Adrenaline Junkies

She's been skydiving twice. "I'm an adrenaline junkie," she said. As for Chris, "the craziest, stupidest thing" he's done is run a Tough Mudder race. He's also run the New York City marathon. Together, they run the Falmouth Road Race every year.

They Diverge on the Food Front

When it comes to a favorite meal, Peyton picks Mexican while Chris loves a good steak.

She Hosts a Radio Show

Peyton is now a host of a radio station in Eastern Massachusetts. She's one of two hosts on the Dan & Peyton show, which airs on 106 WCOD.

Chris Still Reports to Job Sites

He's still involved in the business with his father and brother Eric. "When I'm not shooting for HGTV, I'm actually home doing regular landscaping jobs for our clients," Chris said.

They Were Multitaskers Even in High School

During their respective high school years, both were involved in a number of extracurriculars. Peyton was on the student council and dance team, while Chris was in the National Honor Society and peer leadership program.

Shaq Once Tweeted Something Chris Said

When Chris was on The Bachelor [10], he quoted his parents, who often say, "Love is the only reality." After that episode, Shaq tweeted [11], "Love is the only reality."

He Has a Background in Math
