President Obama's victory tweet from the 2012 election is the gift that keeps on giving . . . four years later. After clinching a victory against Republican candidate Mitt Romney, the president's team tweeted a picture of him and Michelle embracing with the caption "Four more years."
Since then, the post has been retweeted just under a million times and liked over 600,000 times. But in 2016 alone, the picture garnered 236,627 retweets. Considering Obama's approval rating reached a 55 percent high this year [3], it's unsurprising people resurfaced this charming tweet. Another reason for its reemergence might be the national adoration of Michelle; even ultra-conservative pundits like Glenn Beck lauded her speech at the DNC in August [4].
The picture is still not the most retweeted ever, but it's certainly one Americans will remember when the Obamas leave the White House next month.
