President Obama's victory tweet from the 2012 election is the gift that keeps on giving . . . four years later. After clinching a victory against Republican candidate Mitt Romney, the president's team tweeted a picture of him and Michelle embracing with the caption "Four more years."
Since then, the post has been retweeted just under a million times and liked over 600,000 times. But in 2016 alone, the picture garnered 236,627 retweets. Considering Obama's approval rating reached a 55 percent high this year, it's unsurprising people resurfaced this charming tweet. Another reason for its reemergence might be the national adoration of Michelle; even ultra-conservative pundits like Glenn Beck lauded her speech at the DNC in August.
The picture is still not the most retweeted ever, but it's certainly one Americans will remember when the Obamas leave the White House next month.
