Alfredo
From Olive Garden
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon garlic, about 3 cloves, minced
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup heavy cream
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup Romano cheese, grated
Fresh parsley for garnish, optional
Directions
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and add garlic. Cook until fragrant but not browned, about 1 minute.
- Add the flour and cook, stirring to combine with the butter, for another minute. Slowly add the milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly, smoothing out any lumps. Season with a teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Whisk in the cheese and simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally, about 5-10 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Remove from heat and serve the alfredo sauce with your favorite pasta, and with pan-seared chicken [1], if desired. Top with more grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, if desired.
