Prepare your phones, phoneographers — the biggest, best Instagram update yet is coming to iPhones and Android devices today. Five new filters [1] are being added: Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Arden, and Perpetua. Instead of giving photos a dramatic, high-contrast look, these filters are intended to "soften and subtly shift colors," according to an Instagram press release.

The app update also brings some other long-awaited features. Pick and choose which filters appear in your filter tray with a new "Manage" button. Slo-mo videos from an iPhone 5S, 6, and 6 Plus can finally be uploaded to Instagram without a workaround. A new option to adjust a photo's perspective is also available in Edit mode.

The main takeaway here is that you'll want to head to the App Store or Google Play to download the new version immediately. Instagram's new filters are so good, they might (gasp) render your favorite photo-editing app obsolete. Take a look at the sexy new filters in the gallery!
