Ingle & Rhode combined data from four Instagram hashtags — #isaidyes, #proposal, #proposed and #heproposed. The geographical coordinates were then identified by checking the longitude and latitude of each image, and finally, the results were cross-referenced to the nearest city to reveal the most popular destinations [2] in the world for people to propose in 2016.
