Yesterday, Fox held its upfront presentation in NYC, showing off its newest shows and celebrating the series that have already been successes for the network. Mindy Kaling, Zooey Deschanel, Lea Michele, Demi Lovato, and Minka Kelly — who is starring in J.J. Abrams's upcoming show for the channel — were among the attendees at the presentation's afterparty. Lea sported a sexy, one-shoulder dress as she walked the blue carpet solo. Cory Monteith, her costar and boyfriend, didn't attend the event. However, the pair did celebrate his 31st birthday together over the weekend in LA.

While stars of current shows like Glee, New Girl, and The Mindy Project were celebrated at the event, the network also unveiled several series to come in 2013 and 2014, which network brass consistently referred to as reaching a "new generation" of viewers. Among the most buzz-worthy announcements were Andy Samberg's upcoming cop comedy and the confirmation that 24 will be returning to the airwaves.

Ready for the middle of your week to get awesome?

Ready for the middle of your week to get awesome? Andy Samberg's group, The Lonely Island, is releasing a new video or song every Wednesday until the release of their latest, The Wack Album, on June 11. Today kicks off "Wack Wednesdays" with a video for "Spring Break Anthem," which fittingly starts out with Spring Breakers star James Franco as a guest on Zach Galifianakis's Between Two Ferns. It's an ode to crazy Spring breaks . . . with a bit of gay marriage worked in. You have to watch, if simply to hear the lyrics "beer goggles if she's a hag" and "find Mr. Right and get monogamous" fit seamlessly into the same song.

Watch Adam Levine Sing "YOLO" on SNL (Lonely Island Bonus!)

"YOLO," the phrase Drake coined and made into a household phrase (at least for those attuned to hip-hop culture), got flipped upside down this weekend by Saturday Night Live host Adam Levine.

"YOLO," the phrase Drake coined and made into a household phrase (at least for those attuned to hip-hop culture), got flipped upside down this weekend by Saturday Night Live host Adam Levine. Levine enlisted a little help for the digital short from Lonely Island, including SNL alum Andy Samberg, and the foursome donned suits to school the audience on the dangers of "You Only Live Once." (Digital short aficionados may remember the first time Levine teamed up with Samberg, for "Iran So Far"). Their advice? Avoid stairs and saunas, don't travel, and build a bomb shelter. It's a cautionary tale and a much-welcome return to the digital-short platform for the show. Levine nails it, and the night's musical guest, Kendrick Lamar, even gets in on the action. Still not convinced this is a must watch? Danny McBride is in there too.

4 Reasons You Might Love Celeste and Jesse Forever

Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg play the title characters in indie dramedy Celeste and Jesse Forever, who are a divorcing couple who want to remain friends.

Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg play the title characters in indie dramedy Celeste and Jesse Forever, who are a divorcing couple who want to remain friends. They find that it's tough to move on with other people while they hang on to each other, and their friends have a difficult time even understanding their relationship. Jones stars in and cowrote the movie, and her hard work has paid off in the form of a sweet, funny gem about the reality of relationships and complicated nature of love. I have a few different praises to sing about Celeste and Jesse Forever, which might make you fall for the film too, so read on to find out why I liked it so much.

  1. You can relate to it no matter what your relationship status. Though the movie mainly depicts the issues of a broken-up couple, you get to see a wide variety of relationships. Aside from the main characters, Ari Graynor and Eric Christian Olsen play a lovey-dovey engaged couple who are friends with Celeste and Jesse, and when Celeste tries to date, we get an honest (if sometimes rough) look at dating. Whether you're single or coupled, there's probably a familiar scenario in the movie for you.
  2. The soundtrack is fantastic. I haven't been this in love with a soundtrack in years; the film features the kinds of songs that make you sit up and take notice of them without jarring you out of the movie. The roster of artists includes up-and-coming indie bands like Porcelain Raft, and each dreamy tune perfectly complements the tone of each scene.
  3. It spotlights a lot of under-the-radar actors. Samberg and Jones have palpable chemistry and strong scenes, but the eclectic ensemble of supporting characters really make the movie entertaining (and a fun game of Where Have I Seen That Actor Before?). Graynor always makes me laugh, and as Celeste's best friend, she's hilarious, as is her onscreen fiancé, Olsen. But wait, there's more: Chris Messina (who seems to be everywhere these days) also pops up to charm Celeste, while Elijah Wood and Emma Roberts are fun as characters who are occasionally over the top.
  4. You'll have a new reason to crush on Andy Samberg. Fans of the Saturday Night Live star know how funny he is, but Celeste and Jesse Forever showcases how dreamy he is. As a laid-back artist, Jesse is also sensitive and loving, and it's easy to see why Celeste struggles with her feelings for him. The movie has a lot of laughs, but Samberg lets his costars crack more jokes than him while he lets his dramatic side shine.

Celeste and Jesse Forever Trailer: Rashida and Andy Are BFFs and Exes

Is it possible to love a movie just from its trailer?

Is it possible to love a movie just from its trailer? Because that's how I feel about Celeste and Jesse Forever, the indie dramedy starring Andy Samberg and Rashida Jones (who also cowrote the film) as exes who still hang out all the time. The former couple don't think it's weird that they still see each other every day, but they seem to be the only people who have that opinion, because all of their friends (including Ari Graynor and Elijah Wood) are either pointing out how unusual their relationship is or encouraging them to move on.

I like everything I'm seeing in this preview: Jones and Samberg look like they have amazing chemistry and the supporting cast is awesome (there's also Chris Messina and Emma Roberts). It also looks hilarious, even though it's not a straight comedy. The movie got great reviews at this year's Sundance Film Festival, so I can't wait to see Celeste and Jesse Forever when it comes out on Aug. 3. You can check out the trailer for yourself after the jump.

That's My Boy: That's Your Bad

There was a time when seeing an Adam Sandler movie didn't necessarily mean watching overly obnoxious characters in a weak narrative strung together by inane plot twists.

There was a time when seeing an Adam Sandler movie didn't necessarily mean watching overly obnoxious characters in a weak narrative strung together by inane plot twists. Unfortunately, That's My Boy perpetuates the "ugh" response that Sandler's films have been getting as of late. The year is 1984; after a romance with sexy teacher Ms. McGarrigle (Eva Amurri Martino), 13-year-old Donny (Sandler) ends up in the national spotlight, lauded for "living the dream" and pasted on magazine covers. Too bad he's also stuck with a baby as a product of the affair. Fast forward to present day, when now-deadbeat Donny shows up days before his estranged son Todd's (Samberg) wedding, hoping his kid will be the key to fixing his financial woes. Clearly mortified by his father's disheveled appearance and general lack of social graces, Todd tries to pass off Donny as an old friend, but Donny uses his inexplicable charms to worm his way into spending the weekend with the group.

The silly plot is just one of the many issues plaguing That's My Boy. Between the bodily-fluid gags, which are painful for both the characters and the audience, and Sandler's grating Boston accent, the movie only works if you're willing to accept the stupidity because it's an Adam Sandler movie. To find out what else I thought of That's My Boy, just keep reading.
