Ariana Grande Has a Surprising Response to Bette Midler's Dis

Ariana Grande is taking the high road when it comes to feuding with Bette Midler. The singer shared a picture of Bette via Twitter on Tuesday, which read, "Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgement! Not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back!!! Always a fan no matter what my love." She added, "And I will still quote First Wives Club every single day of my life."

Earlier this week, Bette revealed in an interview that she thought the current female pop stars are "terrible" for their overly sexualized images. She said, "It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch looking so ridiculous. I mean, it's silly beyond belief and I don't know who's telling her to do it." She also said that she wished whoever was telling Ariana to act sexy would "stop," but admitted that "sex sells." After the interview went viral, Bette joked (and sort of apologized) about her comments, writing on Twitter, "All I can say is, 'Spoken like a reformed old wh*r*!' She does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off."

About my screed on @ArianaGrande , all I can say is, "Spoken like a reformed old whore! She does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off."
