Fruitvale Station is a retelling of the shooting of Oscar Grant. In 2009, Oscar was gunned down by Oakland police, sparking a public outcry. We spoke with the movie's writer and director, Ryan Coogler, and Octavia Spencer, who plays Oscar's mom in the film, shortly after the drama received a standing ovation at its Cannes Film Festival premiere. The pair told us why it was vital to shoot the movie in the Bay Area, what they learned from their conversations with Oscar's family, and what being "embraced" by an international audience in France meant to them. Fruitvale Station will hit select theaters in the States beginning next month.

Christophe Robin, a longtime color expert with L'Oréal Paris, spoke to us during the Cannes Film Festival about his work with many of the famous women gracing the celebrated red carpet at the Palais. We've rounded up some of our favorite celebrity boating moments, just in time for the weekend! When it comes to events like the recently wrapped Cannes Film Festival, stars love to let loose at yacht parties — but they also hop on board during their downtime in other locations. Beyoncé got some sun before diving in for a snorkeling session, and Kate Moss and Jamie Hince showed steamy PDA while celebrating their honeymoon aboard. Rihanna recently blew off some steam on a boat with her friends in Turkey, and Leonardo DiCaprio let loose with models on a few different yachts in the South of France.

Aimee Mullins has one diverse résumé. She's walked the runway for Alexander McQueen, interned at the Pentagon, and competed as a world-class athlete in the NCAA and at the Paralympics. Aimee, who was born without fibula bones and had both legs amputated below the knee as an infant, is also an outspoken advocate for new developments in prosthetics. We caught up with the renaissance woman as she fulfilled one of her many roles — this time as an ambassador for L'Oréal — during the Cannes Film Festival. She filled us in on the life goals she has yet to fulfill and why she thinks the term "role model" can be a complicated label. Aimee also talked about her own personal beauty philosophy and why so-called "flaws" should be embraced.

Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back" might as well have been the anthem for this crew of sultry Cannes sirens. With plunging necklines, thigh-high slits, cutouts, and, yes, sexy backs, these women turned heads at every film premiere and party they attended. It may come as no surprise that the supermodels in attendance delivered the most jaw-dropping cuts — just look to Karolina Kurkova in a cutout Roberto Cavalli gown for the proof — but we'll bet you didn't expect to see Olivia Palermo bare so much skin. For this year's sexiest set at Cannes, just keep clicking.
