President Barack Obama addressed the nation from the White House Tuesday morning, expressing his severe concern and promising federal aid for the victims and families. As search and rescue teams scour the disaster grounds, celebrities have also been taking advantage of social media to share thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement. Oklahoma natives Olivia Munn and Carrie Underwood gave personal accounts and hopes for fellow Oklahomans, as did Kristen Chenoweth, who also asked her followers to donate to the American Red Cross and Humane Society relief efforts. Country stars from all over the US got together in Las Vegas last night for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Taylor Swift looked stunning in a gold Dolce & Gabbana gown as she worked her stuff on the red carpet alongside stars like Sheryl Crow and Keith Urban. Carrie Underwood made a big statement in a red Naeem Khan frock, while Faith Hill went for a simple black number to pose in front of photographers with husband Tim McGraw. Inside the event, Taylor got giddy when she got a chance to meet Shania Twain and John Mayer sang with Brad Paisley in one of his first live performances since he has battled vocal cord problems.

Big winners at the ACM Awards included Miranda Lambert, who nabbed awards for female vocalist of the year, single record of the year, and song of the year with husband Blake Shelton. Miranda broke down in tears during her acceptance speeches, saying that she was "rooting for Carrie Underwood" for the female vocalist award. Other winners included Little Big Town and Luke Bryan, who won entertainer of the year and also cohosted the event with Blake.
