The Color Combination That Will Make Blue Eyes Pop

Although Cate Blanchett usually veers towards the neutral end of the makeup spectrum, she opted for flushed salmon on cheeks and lips at last night's The Hobbit premiere.

Although Cate Blanchett usually veers towards the neutral end of the makeup spectrum, she opted for flushed salmon on cheeks and lips at last night's The Hobbit premiere. The addition of warm, rosy tones made her blue eyes seem brighter, and it's all because of the color wheel.

Blue sits directly across from orange and red on the wheel, meaning those hues complement each other. So if you're looking to make your cerulean gaze take center stage, bust out orange-tinged, pinky-red shades, whether they're swept on eyes, cheeks, or lips. Salmon is an ideal pick because it's a perfect mix of orange and pink. Try MAC Lip and Cheek Color in Out for Fun ($20) for a natural glow that gives beautiful blues bottomless depth.

Prince William Helps Cate Blanchett Premiere The Hobbit in London

Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen celebrated the royal premiere of their new film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, in London today.

Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen celebrated the royal premiere of their new film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, in London today. Cate and Ian were joined by costar Martin Freeman and Lord of the Rings' Dominic Monaghan. Although this Hobbit film, the first of three, is being released after the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it is actually based on the novel that inspired the original Lord of the Rings book series. They weren't at the London premiere, but LOTR's Liv Tyler and Elijah Wood attended last week's NYC screening of The Hobbit.

Prince William also attended the premiere but without his pregnant wife, Kate Middleton. Unfortunately, Kate had to cancel her planned appearance earlier this week due to her continued battle with acute morning sickness.

Freida and Cate Face Off in Gorgeous Gowns — Who Gets Your Vote?

Their dresses may be different, but there's one thing Freida Pinto and Cate Blanchett have in common: just how stunning they both look in their red-carpet attire.

Their dresses may be different, but there's one thing Freida Pinto and Cate Blanchett have in common: just how stunning they both look in their red-carpet attire. The two starlets attended the Dubai Film Festival premiere of Life of Pi in jaw-dropping floor-length creations that, quite frankly, make it really hard for us to name a clear best-dressed "winner." That's why we're providing cold hard styling facts, so you can weigh in on what could be one of the most glamorous Monday fashion face-offs we've seen in a while. Freida chose a one-of-a-kind gold lamé Ralph Lauren gown — complete with a jeweled serpent-headed collar — and finished the look off with a Ferragamo clutch and Charlotte Olympia heels. Where Freida may have excelled in gilded silhouettes, Cate nailed a riskier form of ethereal style. Remember this Rodarte Spring 2013 look? Well, the British actress donned this futuristic-turned-romantic dusty-blue gown with natural makeup and a chic pulled-back updo, giving it an altogether softer feel. Are you feeling the utter perfection of Freida's gold number or is it Cate's gorgeous (with just a hint of edge) ensemble that has you sold? Vote below!

Met Gala: Cate Blanchett

Trust Cate Blanchett to deliver drama with perfect poise.

Trust Cate Blanchett to deliver drama with perfect poise. The veteran fashionista wowed in an ostrich-feathered McQueen confection — a fishtail gown with the most decadent display of feathers gathered at the hemline. We love that she balances both the volume and luxury of her dress with understated makeup and a simple, slicked-back ponytail. With a gown like this, you need little else but a pair of delicate studs, a diamond bangle, and a box clutch — precisely how Cate perfects her Met Gala style. How do you rate her arrival?
