Isla Fisher donned a L'Wren Scott gown to link up with her costars Jesse Eisenberg and Mark Ruffalo at the NYC premiere of Now You See Me last night. The East Coast debut of the film also brought out cast members Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, and pregnant Mélanie Laurent. The event was somewhat of a family affair as Mark was accompanied by his wife, Sunrise Coigney, and their kids, Keen, Bella, and Odette, while Michael and Woody both had their wives by their sides on the carpet.

Along with Now You See Me, Isla has also been been busy promoting The Great Gatsby. She spent time in the South of France alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan last week at the Cannes Film Festival, where they attended multiple press events including the big premiere that opened the festival.

Leo, Carey, and the Gatsby Crew Get the Cannes Party Started

Leonardo DiCaprio suited up to join his The Great Gatsby leading lady, Carey Mulligan, to kick off the Cannes Film Festival with a glamorous photocall for their film today.

Leonardo DiCaprio suited up to join his The Great Gatsby leading lady, Carey Mulligan, to kick off the Cannes Film Festival with a glamorous photocall for their film today. Leo and Balenciaga-clad Carey were joined by the rest of their costars, Isla Fisher, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, as well as the film's director, Baz Luhrmann, as the annual festival got under way in the South of France. It was a busy day for the Gatsby crew, who also participated in a press conference to discuss the film that opened in the US last Friday. Gatsby will make its European premiere tonight in Cannes. The Great Gatsby boasted impressive numbers in its first week, raking in $51.1 million from its US debut.

Leo and his longtime friend Tobey Maguire were reunited at the festival after pairing up earlier this week in NYC. Tobey showed his support at Leonardo's Christie's auction, which raised $35 million to benefit environmental and wildlife conservation efforts, a cause that is backed by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

The visually impressive film has equally impressive motion posters, one for each of the main characters, and we have an exclusive look at the one for Fisher's character, Henley, who's also known as "the escape artist." The motion poster, which you can see after the jump, features Fisher in one of the movie's coolest scenes, where she tries to escape from a water tank. Be sure to catch Now You See Me when it opens May 31, and see the poster in all its moving glory after the break.

The Great Gatsby: Just a Pretty Good Gatsby

Adapting F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1920s-set novel The Great Gatsby is an ideal fit for director Baz Luhrmann.

Adapting F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1920s-set novel The Great Gatsby is an ideal fit for director Baz Luhrmann. The man known for over-the-top visuals in films like Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet depicts the biggest parties you've ever seen in Jazz Age-era New York, and Luhrmann even presents it all in stunning 3D. The aesthetic is the best thing about The Great Gatsby, which falls short in many other aspects. The movie is bloated with every detail and character from the book, and Fitzgerald's text is awkwardly featured on the screen. Luhrmann is as ambitious as Gatsby's climb toward the American dream, and only some of it pays off.

There are a few saving graces, like Leonardo DiCaprio. The actor puts on the impeccable suits of Jay Gatsby, a man whose background and source of wealth are a mystery. The ridiculously rich Gatsby is king of a Long Island castle where he can buy anything — except for the love of his former sweetheart Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan). She's quite comfortable with the old money she married into, even though her husband, Tom (Joel Edgerton), is a cheating bigot. It's the task of Gatsby's neighbor, narrator Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), to help Gatsby win Daisy back, and though the two lovers do find their way back to each other, Gatsby's pretty, pretty world crumbles as he tries to make a life with her. The movie follows a similar path, starting off strong — all debauchery, confetti, and champagne — until it fades into a drawn-out bore. Luhrmann still succeeds in some areas, though; to find out what else I thought of The Great Gatsby, just keep reading.
