Those Fifty Shades of Grey Sex Scenes Weren't So Fun to Film

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan set the internet on fire when she debuted the new trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey on the Today show, and they are continuing promotion for the upcoming project with several interviews. When asked about filming those infamous sex scenes, Dakota revealed on Thursday that the situations themselves were actually pretty unsexy. "It's not a romantic situation, it's more technical and choreographed," Dakota said, adding, "It's more of a task." (To which Jamie laughed off and said, "Cheers!") As to their onscreen chemistry, Jamie explained that he "presumed" that the pair would set the screen on fire since they were both cast in the project but also noted that their relationship is more about "trust." The actor said, "We got ourselves into situations that don't feel that natural and aren't easy, and you need to have the trust there." As to if fans will enjoy the film, Dakota downplayed the anticipation: "We'll see what they think, I guess!" Watch their chat above.

On Friday, the Today show aired a different interview with Jamie and Dakota when they were filming their steamy project, and they were just as frank about their sex scenes back then. When asked about filming the love scenes, Jamie said, "The reality of it is that there's a burly man you don't know very well three feet from your face, which isn't how you usually have sex — not me, anyway." To which Dakota deadpanned, "I do, a lot." She continued: "It's more about visually what our bodies look like and what we're doing. So it's more of like a dance. It's like acrobatics." Author E.L. James also addressed fears from fans that the sex scenes would be made much more tame on the big screen in order to stick with MPAA guidelines. She said, "What I've seen hasn't been particularly watered down. I thought it was interesting." Be sure to check out more hot photos from the film before it hits theaters on Valentine's Day in 2015.
