I already have my tissues ready just watching the trailer for August: Osage County, which stars Meryl Streep as the matriarch of a family who gathers for the funeral of her husband (Sam Shepard). The kids all come home to Oklahoma, most notably Julia Roberts as eldest daughter Barbara, and unkind words, snark, and tears are unleashed. August: Osage County is full of familiar faces, and the rest of the extended family includes Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Juliette Lewis, Abigail Breslin, and Margo Martindale. Whew!
Obviously, if Streep is involved you know you're in for a dramatic treat, and she's bringing it in the preview, but it also looks like Roberts and the supporting cast are at the top of their game, too. This adaptation of a stage play looks so powerful already, and I can't wait to see it when it comes into theaters Nov. 8 — right in time for award season. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Julia Roberts grabbed lunch with husband Daniel Moder in Santa Monica on Saturday. The couple shared a PDA moment when they walked out of their lunch spot wrapped in each other's arms. Julia will have a busy few months ahead of her, as filming for her new HBO project, The Normal Heart, is expected to begin soon. The TV movie will also star Mark Ruffalo and Matt Bomer and will be directed by Ryan Murphy.
Julia has been keeping a low profile in recent months, but she caused a big stir when she dropped by the Golden Globes in January to present an award. She hasn't been announced as a possible presenter for the upcoming Oscars, but the event will include other famous female Oscar winners like Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. If you're getting into the award season spirit, don't forget to fill out our Oscar ballot for a chance to win $1,000 and an iPad!
Julia Roberts grabbed a salad for lunch while out running errands in Malibu yesterday. She wore a blue coat and Frye boots to grab a salad and juice. Julia has been keeping busy over the last few months. She recently wrapped work on August: Osage County with Dermot Mulroney, who was her costar in My Best Friend's Wedding too. Dermot recently said that Julia was "thrilled" about filming August: Osage County together. He said, "Having worked with her so much, I can speak for her, and she was thrilled to work again with me. We're good pals, actually, and it was great collaborating with her and with [director] John Wells and everyone." Theirs isn't the only project Julia's has been working on — she made an appearance at the Golden Globes in January to present the award for best motion picture drama to Argo.
She may have won two Golden Globes last weekend for her HBO series, Girls, but lately the most-talked about topic in regards to writer, filmmaker, and actress Lena Dunham has been her weight, not her talent. Radio host Howard Stern is in hot water for calling Lena a "little fat chick." And while Lena told David Letterman last week that the comments "put me in the best mood," the 26-year-old has been honest that she's had a love-hate relationship with her body, despite displaying it so freely on her show. She told New York Magazine:
"It's a very specific body. Even great reviews will be like: chubby, portly, overweight. . . . Sometimes I'm like, 'Ugh, how did I make myself the guinea pig for this?' But on the other hand, hating my body has not been my cross to bear in this life. Which I feel very lucky about."
Several famous women have opened up about their struggles with body image and eating disorders. Katie Couric revealed on her talk show that she struggled with bulimia when interviewing another famous lady who's dealt with eating disorders, Demi Lovato. And Lady Gaga, who has faced criticism about her weight gain, launched a movement called A Body Revolution to encourage body acceptance. She said she started it to "inspire bravery," adding, "Be brave and celebrate with us your 'perceived flaws,' as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous."
Many celebrity women have courageously talked about what they don't like about their bodies, their past eating disorder issues, and how they've overcome a negative body image. Let's be inspired to accept our bodies just how they are with these encouraging words now!
Julia Roberts met up with some of her famous friends for lunch at Hal's Bar and Grill in Venice, CA, yesterday. She was joined by her August: Osage County costars Ewan McGregor (and his wife, Eve Mavrakis), Dermot Mulroney, and Julianne Nicholson for a casual meal. Filming has reportedly wrapped on the production, but it appears the friends are intent on keeping in touch. Julia's next project pairs her with another fellow A-lister, Brad Pitt. Brad's production company, Plan B, is producing
The Normal Heart, which is set to star Julia alongside Matt Bomer and Alec Baldwin.
As for Ewan, he's got an exciting few months ahead. His name has been thrown around recently as Oscar buzz is building around his gripping role in The Impossible. It appears Ewan's already got Angelina Jolie on his side, so it's possible he could get Julia's support as well. Dermot may not be in the hunt for an Academy Award, but he does have his sights set on Park City. Dermot's forthcoming project The Rambler is among the first-round films announced for 2013's official Sundance Film Festival lineup.
