Eva Longoria has gone to the top of the class! Yesterday, Eva kicked up her heels after accepting her master's degree in Chicano studies from California State University, Northridge. She adds the degree to her bachelor of science in kinesiology, which she received while at Texas A&M University-Kingsville before heading to Hollywood. Eva reportedly started the advanced program while working on ABC's Desperate Housewives, even completing some schoolwork while on set. To celebrate her accomplishments, check out other actresses who have impressive degrees, including self-described "super academic" Rebel Wilson and supermom Jennifer Garner.
The Great Gatsby's Cannes Film Festival premiere drew out glamour of the A-list variety. Carey Mulligan, Nicole Kidman, and Julianne Moore all stunned in Dior, while Isla Fisher dazzled in a fiery Oscar de la Renta and Freida Pinto wowed in pink Gucci. But the fashion fun doesn't stop there. The film's NYC premiere and special pre-Met Ball screening also proved glamorous evenings, with the style crowd in full attendance. See every single outfit from Cannes premiere, plus the rest of the red carpet looks from all of The Great Gatsby's red carpet events right here.

Katy Perry got in the roaring '20s spirit when she attended a cocktail reception for The Great Gatsby and Prada in NYC last night. She wore a purple Prada frock as she mingled with the film's stars Isla Fisher and Carey Mulligan, as well as her fellow musician Florence Welch. The fete was to celebrate an exhibition of the dresses that Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin created for the upcoming film. The fashionable stars were joined by the film's director, Baz Luhrmann, who is married to Catherine, as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, who attended the celebration with his wife, and Miuccia herself.
Carey recently talked to Harper's Bazaar about wearing Prada-designed frocks for the project, noting that she's "always loved their clothes." She said, "They were the first designer house that ever lent me anything; I wore Prada to the Oscars. The people who work there are so lovely and really just non-scary fashion people." If you want to learn more about the film ahead of its May 10 release, be sure to check out the five things we learned from the Great Gatsby press conference with Carey, Tobey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and more!
Channing Tatum donned an all-white suit to hit the dance floor with costars Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal at a party to celebrate their film, White House Down, in Cancun, Mexico, last night. Channing, who was sporting scruffy new facial hair, showed off his dance moves alongside Jamie, and also paired off for a dance with Maggie, who wore a white Apiece Apart dress. Jamie, who plays President James Sawyer in the action flick, posed with Channing in front of a mock presidential portrait for the promotional fun ahead of the film's June 28 release.
Channing has a lot going on at the moment. He has been spending the bulk of his time in London with his pregnant wife, Jenna Dewan, while on location to shoot Jupiter Ascending. Although he has been keeping up a busy schedule, the expectant pair snuck in a recent double date with another A-list couple. Channing and Jenna paired up with his Jupiter Ascending costar Mila Kunis and her boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher, for a date night at the London Opera last weekend.
There is a new Target collaboration that we can't wait to get our hands on: Kate Young for Target! The collection features party-ready outfits that celebrities like Michelle Williams and Kate Mara showcased on the red carpet at the launch party last evening in NYC. We were on hand to catch it all and even caught up with Kate Mara, who talks about the dress she chose to wear from the collection, her favorite red-carpet dress of all time (hint: she loves her brights), and what's on her shopping list for Spring. All of that and more in today's Fashion Flash. On Allison McNamara: Club Monaco dress, Stella & Dot necklace.
Michelle Williams showed off a new shaved hairstyle at the launch for her friend and stylist Kate Young's Target collection in NYC yesterday. She wore a white tuxedo jacket and blue shorts, all from the Kate Young for Target collection, as she caught up with Kate at the event. Michelle has been laying low in her Brooklyn neighborhood over the past few weeks after she finished up her promotional duties for Oz the Great and Powerful. She has been keeping busy by running errands, including trips to the grocery store with daughter Matilda and taking walks with her dog Lucky.
Michelle's fellow Brooklynite Maggie Gyllenhaal — and her husband Peter Sarsgaard — also turned out to support Kate, as did House of Cards star Kate Mara, who looked gorgeous in a yellow dress. Both ladies also wore Kate Young for Target as they said hi to other Kate Young fans including Giada de Laurentiis.
The Hollywood starlets hit the prom-themed red carpet last night to celebrate the launch of the Kate Young For Target collection decked out in, you guessed it, Kate Young For Target wares. Maggie Gyllenhaal looked bohemian-chic in a one-shoulder printed maxi dress with a pair of suede strappy flats and a rhinestone bracelet; Michelle Williams showed off her new '90s hairdo and cool-girl style in a white blazer, black semisheer top, and navy shorts; and Kate Mara donned a party-ready yellow rhinestone-embellished dress accessorized with a bold cuff and suede peep-toe pumps. We can't think of better (celebrity-styled) examples of why you should nab a piece from the new collaboration once it hits stores and online on April 14. Now, we want to hear from you: which look gets your best-dressed vote?
Maggie Gyllenhaal touched down in LA with her girls, Ramona and Gloria, on Friday. Maggie sported a cropped hairstyle and shades as she made her way out of the airport with her daughters. Maggie welcomed baby Gloria in April of last year, and we caught our first glimpse of the little one in August, when Maggie took the girls to visit their father, Peter Sarsgaard, and grandmother Naomi Foner on the set of Very Good Girls.
Maggie, for her part, hasn't appeared on the big screen since last year's Won't Back Down, but she has two high-profile projects ahead. This Summer, Maggie stars opposite Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx in the action-thriller White House Down, and she also has a role alongside Michael Fassbender in the recently shot comedy Frank.
Happy birthday to Maggie Gyllenhaal, one of our favorite actresses, supporters of Planned Parenthood, and outspoken feminists. Jake's older sister, who turns 35 today, is one of the most sex-positive celebrities out there. Last year she hosted a show on Discovery all about the female orgasm, and she followed that up by starring in this year's Hysteria, a film about the invention of the vibrator. And don't forget her role in 2002's Secretary, a film about S&M that happened to have its own Mr. Grey character, à la 50 Shades. Thanks in part to these roles, Maggie has shared some wise words on a range of sexually charged topics. Read on for our favorite quotes from birthday girl Maggie Gyllenhaal!
Maggie Gyllenhaal brought her daughters, Ramona and Gloria, to visit her husband, Peter Sarsgaard, yesterday on the NYC set of Very Good Girls. Three-month-old Gloria was nestled against Maggie to check out the action. Maggie and Peter welcomed the little one back in the Spring on April 19.
The film was actually written by Maggie's mom Naomi Foner, who was seen watching a take with almost 6-year-old Ramona on her lap. Peter joined in on shooting with the movie's stars, Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen, who have been hard at work for much of the Summer. Making the film has become a real family effort — even Maggie's brother Jake Gyllenhall has been on the set.
