The 2012 London Olympics have come to a close! The 16-day athletic extravaganza came to a close yesterday with the closing ceremony, featuring a who's who of British musical acts including the Spice Girls, The Who, and Muse. The Beckham family and the royals were all over checking out the action. Team USA had a great deal to be proud of — we racked up more medals than any other nation with a whopping count of 104 between gold, bronze, and silver! We crowned new American Sweethearts thanks to amazing performances from Gabby Douglas, Missy Franklin, Ryan Lochte, Michael Phelps, the US basketball team, and so many more. Michael Phelps joined fellow swimmers Natalie Coughlin, Chad Le Clos, and Alexander Popov at a special Omega Spotlight on Swimming soiree in London yesterday. He was without girlfriend Megan Rossee, who has been in England showing her support during the Games. Michael and Megan made their first official public appearance on Monday at a Speedo event, after the duo reportedly started dating in February. Now that Michael, who is the most decorated Olympian in history, has finished competing, he's turning his attention to life after swimming. Michael says he's not ruling out Dancing With the Stars, but he does want to take time to relax and travel.

Michael Phelps had girlfriend Megan Rossee on his arm to hit the red carpet at the Speedo Athlete Celebration in London on Monday evening. Michael's model love was catapulted into the spotlight over the weekend when he was spotted out partying in the England city with the leggy blonde and a few of his gold medals after completing his final Olympic event. Michael has been dating Megan, a 25-year-old model living in LA, for about five months, a fact her father confirmed. Megan accompanied Michael to London and has been tweeting about her experience, even using an affectionate pet name, "bear," for Phelps.

Michael will be leaving London as the most decorated Olympian of all time, and up next for the superstar? According to his interview with Bob Costas, Michael is looking forward to downtime and sightseeing around the world. Perhaps he'll have Megan by his side.
