The Avicii Concert in Boston Wasn't Fun For Everyone

At least 36 people were hospitalized in Boston on Wednesday night after attending an Avicii concert at TD Garden. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or serious injuries, but Boston EMS deputy superintendent Mike Bosse said that the victims were suffering from life-threatening symptoms for drug and alcohol use and dehydration. The age of those hospitalized ranged from 16 to 25. One of the concertgoers described an intense scene, saying, "You couldn't breathe if you were on the floor. It was the best and worst time ever — a lot of people who couldn't handle themselves. People who don't do drugs come here and do drugs."

Avicii himself commented on the hospitalizations, tweeting, "Just hearing the awful news about tonight. It's a terrible thing, I really hope everyone is OK! My thoughts go to those affected and their families." Source: Getty / Jeff Kravitz
