Trend Alert: Tough-Girl Hair Accessories

This Fall, let the femme fatale in you thrive .

This Fall, let the femme fatale in you thrive . . . at least when it comes to your choice of hair accessories. Recently, Rachel Zoe rocked a black leather turban paired with fully rimmed eyeliner and a red lip look (both well-known, bad-girl staples). And though lace can be cutesy, too: Poppy Delevingne's animalistic headband skewed more sex kitten than house cat. And then there's British model Portia Freeman, who upped the ante with a spiked headpiece. Get a similar style with the Sonia Kashuk Studly Haute Hair Set ($10), and let your tough side rule.

Ladies Were Making Waves at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

The beauty looks at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic were all about glamour, but there was one hairstyle that was the obvious favorite: the tousled wave.

The beauty looks at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic were all about glamour, but there was one hairstyle that was the obvious favorite: the tousled wave. Whether they were paired with a turban like the one Rachel Zoe was donning, or styled in a vintage fashion à la Lauren Conrad, these wavy strands took center stage. The trick to this look is to hold your curling iron horizontally instead of vertically while you wrap the hair around it. A quick tug on the wave while it's still hot will further loosen it.

To get Lauren's style, brush the waves out lightly once they cool and part your hair to the side. Ashley Madekwe's strands can be achieved with a half-inch iron with the hair being curled away from the face, while Ashley Greene's can be teased up and pinned back for a cool-girl look. And for a trendsetting way to wave, pair beachy strands with an inky black turban like Rachel. These effortless curls look polished and cool, no matter how you decide to wear them.

Yesterday's Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in LA was a family affair for stars such as Rachel Zoe, Alessandra Ambrosio, Selma Blair, and Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn. The India-inspired event also drew Lauren Conrad and her boyfriend William Tell, who were spotted cozying up to each other in the VIP tent, Twilight star Ashley Greene, and Justin Long, among others. We spotted Justin horsing around with Jerry and Rebecca's twin daughters during the kid-friendly party, where fellow moms Rachel and Alessandra also did some bonding with their little ones.

The match was a close one, but polo star Nacho Figueras's team reigned supreme with a score of 10 to 9 after actress Ali Larter kicked things off by throwing out the first toss. With son Skyler Berman and husband Rodger Berman by her side, Rachel presented Ralph Lauren model Nacho with an oversize bottle of Champagne at the awards ceremony, during which he was honored as the day's MVP.
