The 2013 Cannes Film Festival is underway, and along with our star-studded arrival coverage, we're taking a look back at some of our favorite celebrity boating moments. When it comes to Cannes, stars love to let loose at yacht parties, but they also hop on board during their downtime in other locations. Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Matt Damon set sail together to promote Ocean's Twelve, while Beyoncé got some sun before diving in for a snorkeling session. Scarlett Johansson lounged in her bikini with her bodyguard, and Kate Moss held hands with Jamie Hince while leaping from a lavish vessel in St. Tropez.

In the first episode of Nicole Richie's AOL web series, Candidly Nicole, the star looked into removing her "tramp stamp," which she described as a "cross going down the crack tattoo." During her on-camera doctor's visit, Nicole said, "I was 16 and an idiot and didn't want my parents to see." She went on to add that "I'm not that girl" but ultimately decided against the laser tattoo removal. "If it was a one-time thing, I would do it," Nicole said in the webisode. "But I'm not going back every two months, you know. That's too much upkeep."
In honor of Nicole's attempt to remove one of her nine tattoos, let's take a look at other celebrities who have famous body ink.
Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans went into action mode while filming a scene for their upcoming film, Captain America: The Winter Solider, in LA yesterday. Scarlett showed off her red hair as she kicked an actor during the shoot. Her martial arts scene came just a day before the 2013 Tony nominations were announced this morning. Scarlett starred on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof but didn't earn a nomination for her work on the play. Jessica Chastain, who was in The Heiress, and Katie Holmes, who worked on Dead Accounts, were also snubbed. While Scarlett didn't earn a nomination this time around, she did win the Tony for best actress featured in a play back in 2010 for her gig in A View From the Bridge.
Celebrities locked lips and showed off new looks while on set this week. On Wednesday, Channing Tatum headed to his trailer in Norfolk, England, for his movie Jupiter Ascending while the film's extras slipped into elaborate sci-fi costumes. Meanwhile, a redheaded Scarlett Johansson took on her Black Widow character in LA for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Zac Efron got into a serious lip-locking session for scenes from Townies. Clive Owen also had onscreen action while on set in Vancouver and shared a kiss with Juliette Binoche for Words and Pictures. Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, visited Leavesden Studios outside of London today with Prince Harry. The royal trio toured a recently refurbished studio where the Harry Potter series was made. We are looking at Harry, Kate, and William — and their wands! — in this headlines roundup, as well as at a new role for Scarlett Johansson, a frank admission from Gwyneth Paltrow, and a Harvard honor for Matt Damon.
Scarlett Johansson showed off her freshly dyed red hair on the Captain America: The Winter Soldier set in LA yesterday. She is sporting crimson tresses for her return to the role of Black Widow in the latest Captain America flick, which is due out next year. This is the first we have seen of Scarlett with her newly dyed 'do, and she is not the only actress to go red for a role recently. Megan Fox dyed her hair red to film Michael Bay's upcoming live-action Ninja Turtles project.
Scarlett popped up on her LA set after switching gears from a recent stint in NYC, where she starred in the Broadway play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Aside from the stage and the big screen, she is also currently on newsstands. Scarlett covers the May issue of Marie Claire, and in an interview with the magazine, she touches on personal topics such as her divorce and dating in general, although she is currently taken by French boyfriend Romain Dauriac.
We are pumped to share one of our favorite stories from Self here on POPSUGAR Fitness!
Scarlett Johansson rocks that magic combo of curves, confidence and fitness that somehow inspires a we-can't-help-it obsession in us all. I mean, girl is gorgeous. As femme fatale Black Widow in The Avengers — which won several MTV Movie Awards this past weekend — she looks so damn comfortable in that skintight body suit, she got us jonesing to get a bodacious superhero body, too.
To the rescue: L.A.-based trainers Bobby and Alicia Strom, who worked with Johansson while she was prepping for the role. "She really puts 100% into getting ready for whatever role she needs to play," says Bobby. "When she was going to be in The Avengers, she wanted to be more athletic and toned."
So, what's the first thing you learn in Action Star 101? You need to get a core hovering in that "rock solid" zone. "She was being shot around in a harness, doing kicks and jumps," says Bobby. "She [needed] to be strong enough not to get hurt doing stunts."
The trainer had Johansson strengthening her core with a tough super move that combines the Inchworm with knee tucks. Check out this totally homemade but insanely awesome how-to video featuring Alicia Strom (who's sporting super-chic Victoria's Secret VSX Sport Line, btw). Once we nail this move like Scarlett did — watch out world, catsuit here we come!
