In today’s headlines from Los Angeles, Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon address Tonight Show rumors with a song, Emma Watson and Seth Rogen’s new film, MTV star Shain Gandee passes away, and more.
This Is the End Trailer: James Franco Is Having a Party, and All of Hollywood Is Invited
We've already gotten a tease of This Is the End, better known as the apocalyptic comedy starring just about every famous funny person, but the new red-band trailer provides a lot more footage, stars, and laughs. We've got Mindy Kaling setting her sights on Michael Cera, Rihanna getting hit on by Michael Cera, and Michael Cera getting impaled during said apocalypse. OK, maybe Michael Cera is the star of this particular trailer.

But wait! There's also Emma Watson hilariously wielding an axe, and a pretty entertaining fight between the film's real stars (Jonah Hill, James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson) about who gets to eat a Milky Way bar. It's all very silly, but I'm now officially excited for this movie, which opens on June 14. The trailer is NSFW, but check it out after the read more

James Franco Accepts a Walk of Fame Star With Friends at His Side
James Franco was honored in Hollywood yesterday with a star on the Walk of Fame. The actor's latest movie, Oz the Great and Powerful, comes out today. James has been gearing up for the Disney release for several weeks, kicking things off in February at a premiere in LA, where he waved to fans from Oz's infamous hot-air balloon before walking the red carpet.
James was joined by his former Freaks and Geeks costar Seth Rogen at yesterday's star ceremony. Oz director Sam Raimi, who previously worked with James on Spider-Man, shared a few words about the actor to mark the occasion, while his brother Dave and mom Betsy looked on proudly. To get the scoop on James's performance as the wizard, check out our review of Oz the Great and Powerful.

Buzz Time Machine: Seth Rogen Romances Busy Philipps on Dawson's Creek
Busy Philipps and Seth Rogen memorably played members of the out crowd in Freaks and Geeks, but viewers may have forgotten about their affair on Dawson's Creek. OK, it's less romantic than it sounds. When Joey comes a-knockin' looking for Audrey, she finds Bob (Rogen), who explains that they "porked" the night before. High comedy, I say!

This Is the End Trailer: James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Friends Make Apocalypse Jokes
I guess if the world is ending, spending it with James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, and Craig Robinson wouldn't be so bad. That's who's starring in the apocalyptic comedy This Is the End, with the aforementioned funny friends playing versions of themselves and dealing with the sudden end of the world — and making pretty meta jokes about it, in McBride's case. In the red-band trailer, we get a taste of what the end of days looks like with these guys, which includes pee cocktails, wacky disasters, and cameos from other stars like Emma Watson, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, and Michael Cera.
Given that This Is the End started off as a short film that starred Rogen and Baruchel (Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse), I'm curious to see how the idea was fleshed out into a full-length comedy. But either way, I'm already sold on this movie for its lineup of actors who've made me laugh together in so many movies before. Let's just hope the world doesn't actually end this week before we get to see This Is the End, which comes out June 14. Watch the trailer after the jump.
Bradley, Ben, and Marion Win Big and Catch Up at the Hollywood Film Awards
Last night's Hollywood Film Awards brought plenty of stars to the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Few attendees went home empty-handed — Bradley Cooper won the Hollywood Actor Award, Marion Cotillard the Hollywood Actress Award, and Amy Adams the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award. Ben Affleck also added to his statue collection, since he and the cast of his third directorial project, Argo, won the Hollywood Ensemble Acting Award. He accepted the prize in the company of Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, and Alan Arkin. Judd Apatow, meanwhile, accepted his Hollywood Comedy Award.
We caught up with Bradley on the red carpet before the show began. He spoke about working with Jennifer Lawrence in their forthcoming Silver Linings Playbook, revealing that on their very first day on set, the ice was broken right away since they had to practice a dance scene. Many of the attendees' minds were on the third presidential debate, however. Bradley told us his advice to young people this election season is to vote, while Kerry Washington showed off her Barack Obama 2012 iPhone case.

Ben Affleck, Marion Cotillard, and More Stars Light Up the Hollywood Film Awards Red Carpet
Ben Affleck and Marion Cotillard were among those who stepped out for last night's Hollywood Film Awards in LA. Marion hit the red carpet in a strapless gown from Dior, while Amy Adams also attended in a long Oscar de la Renta number. A Prabal Gurung-clad Amanda Seyfried, Kerry Washington, and Irish actress Kelly Reilly rounded out the list of ladies heading into the show. Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, and Bryan Cranston were also on hand. The Hollywood Film Awards are generally regarded as the first of award season, which gets into full swing in early 2013. Argo was honored for the acting skills of their cast, while Robert and Bradley picked up statues for their forthcoming Silver Linings Playbook. Richard Gere received a lifetime achievement award, while Amy and Marion got individual acting honors.
The Guilt Trip Trailer: Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand Hit the Road
Seth Rogen is no stranger to the buddy-comedy genre, but this Christmas he's trading in his bros for . . . Barbra Streisand? In The Guilt Trip, Rogen plays a guy who comes home to visit his mom and decides to invite her along on his cross-country car ride. Along the way, they encounter hitchhikers, the Grand Canyon, and strip clubs (obviously).

There's not much that feels new or fresh in this trailer, except for the fact that we rarely see Rogen playing the polite, buttoned-up guy. Streisand is believable as the mother that mortifies him, but the odd-couple road-trip-from-hell premise has been done before. The film opens Dec. 25, and you can watch the trailer when you read more
