Tim McGraw and Faith Hill got together at the Venetian in Las Vegas yesterday. They showed sweet affection as they announced their plans for a limited run of Soul2Soul performances at the Sin City hotel that will start this December and run through April. Tim said of the 10-weekend commitment, "This show is all about us. We'll do a few of the songs that we have individually, but they'll be integrated with what we do together." Tim and Faith, who have been married for almost 16 years, went on tour together back in 2000 and again in 2006. Tim's currently on the road with his longtime friend Kenny Chesney, though, as the duo continues their travels for Brothers of the Sun.

Reese Witherspoon was pretty in pink as she stepped on stage to present at last night's CMA Awards in Nashville. The movie star was in the company of country music's biggest names, which of course include Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. For the red carpet Taylor Swift wore a strapless J. Mendel, Carrie Underwood was in Reem Acra, and Ginnifer Goodwin was in Prabal Gurung. Taylor performed her new love song "Ours" during the show, and she also took home the biggest honor of the evening, Entertainer of the Year. Taylor also won that award in 2009, making her the second woman to earn it twice. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley played cohosts for the third year in a row and once again showed off their funny chemistry on stage.

Reese wasn't the only Oscar-winning actress in the house, since Nicole Kidman was there on the arm of her husband Keith Urban. Faith Hill hit the red carpet in a stunning white Chado Ralph Rucci gown with Tim McGraw by her side. Millions of fans tuned in last night for American Idol's two-hour, star-studded season finale. Ryan Seacrest was decked out in a tux to take in the powerful performances, later announcing 17-year-old Scotty McCreery as this year's champion — do you agree with the season 10 American Idol winner? The top 13 contestants returned to sing and dance throughout the show, as did Beyoncé Knowles, Lady Gaga, and even Idol judge Steven Tyler. Carrie Underwood arrived in a Lorena Sarbu dress then joined finalist Lauren Alaina for a duet of "Before He Cheats," and Scotty teamed up with country legend Tim McGraw on "Live Like You Were Dying." Beyonce took the stage twice, first doing a medley of her own hits like "Crazy in Love" with contestants and then a solo of her new single "One Plus One." Marc Anthony got the crowd on their feet with a Latin beat as Jennifer Lopez shook it in a hot fringed costume. Lady Gaga, U2, Tony Bennett, Jack Black, and Gladys Knight also joined in the fun before Scotty celebrated his accomplishment by belting out his first original track, "I Love You This Big."

To me, a title like Country Strong suggests resilience and perseverance. But if you're expecting an uplifting comeback tale from Gwyneth Paltrow's latest film, let me set you straight right now. The movie is a downer, and an overwrought one at that.

Paltrow stars as Kelly Canter, a country star who leaves rehab to embark on her new tour. Her exit from treatment is premature, but with her husband/manager James (Tim McGraw) nipping at her heels to get back on the road, she risks her rehabilitation for the sake of her fans (and ticket sales). As Kelly tries to suck it up and stay sober, she flounders to the point of perpetual emotional meltdown. It gets tiring to watch, but the film does have its merits. Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out in a daring white Pucci dress for the premiere of Country Strong in LA last night. The InStyle cover girl was joined by her costars Leighton Meester, who wore a pink Christian Dior mini, Garrett Hedlund, and Tim McGraw, who had wife Faith Hill by his side. Tim and Faith also supported Gwyneth at her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony earlier this week. Gwyneth Paltrow broke out her Winter white this afternoon to unveil her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in LA. Unlike recent honoree Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth didn't bring her kids, Apple and Moses, out for the event. Instead, the Country Strong star posed with costar Tim McGraw, pal Faith Hill, and a handful of other girlfriends. Gwyneth is out on the West Coast doing a press push for her new movie, which opens on Jan. 7, and spent the weekend at the junket with Tim, Leighton Meester, and Garrett Hedlund. Leighton managed to steal the headlines by announcing her intentions to leave Gossip Girl in 2012, but Gwyneth is renewing her commitment to the small screen. She just confirmed that she'll return to Glee in January but hopefully will avoid fueling any more drama with the Lohans.
