Penelope Cruz stunned in a pink Atelier Versace dress last night at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Twice Born, formerly titled Venuto al Mondo. She walked the press line to chat with fans and reporters, then linked up with costar Emile Hirsch and director Sergio Castellitto to introduce their work. Earlier in the day, the trio were together for another press event. Penelope Cruz wore a purple Emilio Pucci suit to their afternoon photocall.
It seems Penelope's husband, Javier Bardem, didn't join her for the Italian-language movie's debut. Javier's got a lot on his own plate at the moment, with the release of the next James Bond film, Skyfall, in which he stars as the villain, around the corner in November. Plus, he and Penelope are logging plenty of time together working on Ridley Scott's new project, The Counselor, in London.
Ben Affleck had two upcoming movies showing at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. We already shared our review of Argo, and now BuzzSugar editor Shannon Vestal is revealing her first impressions of To the Wonder. Rachel McAdams was one of the stars who visited Variety's studio at Holt Renfrew during the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday. She wore a sexy black and tan Lanvin dress for the event, which also brought out Eli Roth, Jason Bateman, and Paula Patton. Rachel's been in Canada promoting multiple projects, and she hit the red carpet for the premiere of Passion in a sexy black look last night. Rachel's boyfriend, Michael Sheen, joined her, though the duo didn't pose for photos together. He was also there to support Rachel at the debut of To the Wonder earlier this week. We're watching all the celebrities at TIFF, so make sure to check back until the festival wraps up on Sunday.
Thanks For Sharing, a dramedy about sex addiction starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Ruffalo, is just one of the movies generating buzz at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. Diane Kruger donned Valentino Couture to join her boyfriend, Joshua Jackson, at the Toronto International Film Festival debut of Inescapable last night. The picture, a thriller about a father searching for his daughter, in which Josh stars, didn't meet great reception from critics — check out one scathing review of Inescapable. Nonetheless, the premiere brought Josh back to his native Canada along with German-born Diane. In fact, Josh has been spending a great deal of time in his motherland shooting Fringe in Vancouver. Diane's been keeping company with Josh north of the border, but has also ventured to their homes in LA and Paris over the last month to focus on some of her own work.
