Valerie Piro

Valerie Piro is a doctoral candidate in the History Department at Princeton University, writing a dissertation on poverty in the early Middle Ages. She is a full-time wheelchair user, and has written about disability-related topics for The New York Times, Healthline, Inside Higher Ed, and Hyperallergic. She has an Ed.M. in Higher Education, and has given talks on how best to prepare students with disabilities as they transition from K-12 to higher education. She has three Masters degrees in (Medieval) History, and rarely misses a Mets game.
